Hiking trailsDuring the last five centuries trails and roads have been opened, being it that most of them were walking and dunkey trails. Roads where one could pass with a carriage or carts (ox, mule, horse etc) were sparse. Therefor most of the merchandise was transported by sea, this was much faster and efficiënt.
On all the islands many of these old trails are still to be found, now being restored and used by excursionists. Part of these trails are now classified as: “Recommended Pedestrian Trails”. |
